New Season Format for 2013-14

2013-SRGE-trivia-3The Question Block runs on a year-long schedule, leading up to the next Seattle Retro Gaming Expo.  We also have special events at shows like Sakura-Con, PAX, and around the Puget Sound.  We want to unify your Question Block Experience, and provide added benefits for long-term players!  Here’s how we’re going to do it:

The Question Block is introducing a Season format!  If your team comes to all of our events, we encourage you to register with The Question Block for the 2013-2014 season to receive the most out of our monthly trivia game!

How To Register

At any of our regular trivia nights, you can include a ONE TIME buy-in of $5 (in addition to the regular entry fee, if any) to be added to the current season.  You will choose a team name and two team leaders.

After you register, be sure to use the same name OR make sure we know your league team name whenever you come to any of our trivia nights.  Also, your two team leaders MUST be in attendance for at least half of the season’s games to qualify.  There are a bunch of other fine print rules that you can read at the end of this post.

Season Tracking

Our season begins after the most recent Seattle Retro Gaming Expo, and ends with the Trivia finals which will occur during the next SRGE.  Each team in the league will have their scores for the season tracked here on www.TheQuestionBlock.com, and will be able to track their standings overall here on the website.

As the season progresses, you can still join the league and be in the running for the finals!  We will assign you points equivalent to the average score of each of the nights you missed previously, so you will still be in the running!  However, there are still plenty of reasons to sign up even if you join the league later in the season!

Exclusive Content on The Question Block Website

Each of the league team leaders will be given access to exclusive content on the Question Block website that will provide you with clues to the upcoming trivia night!  You may get the title of the half-time round, or be given a chance to choose the non-gamer round, or some other clue to the next round of trivia!

Automatic Entry Into The Game Show Rounds at Trivia Nights

Also new for the 2013-14 Season are Game Show rounds!  Before the Half-Time break, we will randomly select members of League teams (and ONLY League teams) to participate in a game show styled series of questions, with the winners receiving “fabulous” prizes!

These game show rounds are all new, and ONLY for League members!

Inclusion In The League Finals

Of course, at the end of the season we will have League Finals, held at or during the Seattle Retro Gaming Expo!  Only League finalists will be allowed to play for the cash prize!  The cash prize will be made up of all League entry fees.  The winners of the League will be crowned champions for the entire year of Question Block Trivia!

Read on for more detailed rules about the League structure.
