Teams

We allow teams of up to 6 players.  Each team pays an entry fee, with 100% of the entry fee going towards the prize pool.  Each team is free to come up with any name they want for every game, but teams interested in joining a season pass should make sure the GM associates their team with their past scores.  For season pass teams, There must be at least two people who have attended more than 75% of the total trivia nights that the team has attended as a whole.

Teams are responsible for correcting each other’s answers after each round.  When completed, answer sheets are brought up to the game master.

Rounds

Regular Rounds

The first 3 rounds, and rounds 4 and 5 are all “Regular Rounds,” meaning all questions are worth 1 point unless otherwise noted (occasionally some questions will be worth more points or have multiple answers).  Wrong answers in regular rounds DO NOT count against a team’s score.

Half-Time Bonus Round

The Half-Time Bonus Round is a fun, quick round for individuals (not teams!) to win prizes!  The Half-Time Bonus Round is purely for fun and to give away free prizes and beer; answers DO NOT count toward a team’s final score.

The Final Round

The Final Round features 5 increasingly difficult questions, each worth more points than the last, and wrong answers WILL count against your score!  Point values increase from 1 point for question 1 to 5 points for question 5. Any incorrect answers will count against your final score, so teams have an opportunity to win or lose 15 points.

After the Final Round, we will recap each team’s scores.  The winner will receive a cash prize!

Round Types

Text Rounds

Text rounds are straightforward questions like many of the other questions you’ve seen before.

Graphic Rounds

Graphic Rounds will show you a screenshot from a game, or artwork, or an advertisement, character, person, or any other image and ask you a question about it.

Non-Video Game Rounds

We’ll cover anything that isn’t a video game.  Usually related to something going on that month.

Audio & Video Rounds

We’ll play a clip from a video game or TV show, movie, or some other piece of related media and ask you a question about it.

The League

Leagues will track your progress over the season.  League finalists will receive special benefits, and only League teams are allowed into the season championship games. For a more detailed explanation of the League structure, including rules governing missing a month, team requirements, and how points are calculated, visit our League Structure page
