The Question Block Video Game Pub Quiz 2016-17 Season Info & Trivia Scores (page 8)

Episode 07 – February 28th

And The Nominees Are…

A Game of Ties

Love is in the air for those who know their video games!  This month’s trivia featured a massive 10 teams competing to be number one at the Question Block trivia!

Hard to get

The 10 teams created a cash prize pool of $50, and our half-time prize pool consisted of a DOTA-branded backpack, a hand-knitted poke ball, a factory sealed copy of Donkey Kong for the Atari 800, a Sega CD game, a T-shirt, a brand new storage set for the Wii, and of course free drinks from the bar!

In addition to the free cash, prizes, and beer from the game and half-time round, we introduced our new RSVP prizes; members who RSVP on this site are entered to win free PC Game downloads and a free appetizer from WIlde Rover!  This month, every person who RSVP’d won a prize!

Round 1 challenged teams to answer questions from This Month in Video Games! Despite having 10 teams in this month’s game, nobody managed a perfect score!  Newcomers The Tonberries managed the highest score with 7 correct answers.  Perhaps portentious, perennial league teams The Spoony Bards, The Woodmen, and The Juans of Gamelon all tied with 6 points each.

Round 2 was our graphic round, Gen 2 Pokemon!  Teams fared better this round, with Game… Blouses and Just Friends in a Dangerous Spacetime catching up thanks to perfect scores this round!

Our non-video game round was “Holidays” in February.  3 teams took advantage of their general trivia knowledge to gain ground with a perfect score on this round. Congrats to  Super Princess Toad Bros., Super Ultra Trivia Team 2.5 HD Remix Tournament Edition, and No, No, No, to Tallyho! for excelling just prior to the half-time round!

Our half-time lightning round using the new format earned many people some great half-time swag and free drinks.  Curious about the new format?  You’ll have to come out to the next game to find out!

Round 4, our new Spotlight round was focused on the recently held DICE Awards for video games!  Metal Beer Solid held their ground strong in this round along with several other teams.

Round 5 was our Player’s Choice Round, Famous Actors in Video Games!  The team who choose the round thanks to last month’s score, No, No, No, to Tallyho! took advantage of the benefit to get on extra bonus point on the round!

Our final round featured Graphics Technology.  Once again, nobody scored a perfect 15, but The Spoony Bards managed 11 points, 6 higher than the next best score, cementing their place as the number 1 team in this month’s game!  Both The Woodmen and Stef and Danny agree: Greedo Shot First!!! earned 5 points in the final round, leading to a tense tie-breaker question successfully answered by The Woodmen!  Congratulations to all the teams who played this month’s game, and thanks for coming out and playing!

No, No, No to Tallyho! earned the honor of choosing a round in April’s game.
